It's our A Tale of Two Cities unit...

… And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, “O me! O life!… of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless… of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?” Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

Hey y’all, I am so proud of myself. (Why did I just say y’all?) Here’s why (not why I said y’all, but why I’m proud of myself):

And sorry I’ve been gone for so long (if you care, heheh…awkward silence), but it’k because I was dealing with A LOT of emotional friendship-related AND school-related stress. So my life has been really sucky for the last couple of weeks. But now I’m on break, and alive (hallelujah!) so that’s good. I hope to be a’tumblin’ (is that correct punctuation there?) again soon. Over and out!

Look out into the blue

the salty air a fresh perfume

with no light

but the stars above looking down on us

Do you find it strange that I

could be a thousand miles away and I

still see the sun

the same one you’re under?

And do you think it odd that I

could be so close but yet so far from you?

And yet we do

lie under the same moon

(Chorus)

Because the moon will always wax and wane

and the tides will always kiss the shore

Come what may and come what won’t

I’ll be sitting here listening to time’s infinite score

So why don’t you join me?

I’d say I love you, but I can’t

for I hear you have to feel it back

to know

although it’s what I feel

It seems that though we’ve grown apart

I still haven’t let you go all this time

a chance not taken

a hope let down and out

(Chorus)

Because the moon will always wax and wane

and the tides will always kiss the shore

Come what may and come what won’t

I’ll be sitting here listening to time’s infinite score

So why don’t you join me?

Why don’t you join me?

(Bridge)

For the stories all remain the same

and time’s something we cannot reclaim

So come with me

to the sea

and sit by me

sit by me

(Chorus)

Because the moon will always wax and wane

and the tides will always kiss the shore

Come what may and come what won’t

I’ll be sitting here listening to time’s infinite score

So why don’t you join me?

Why don’t you join me?

Why don’t you join me?

Why don’t you join me?

Look out into the blue

the salty air a fresh perfume

with no light

but the stars above looking down on us

~I hope you enjoyed my cheesy love song/poem. Good to get that gunk out of my system before I have to write something actually good at school next week. (Ahhh, next week!) Yup. Didn’t know I could be that cheesy, did ya? Well now you (most likely regrettably) know that I can be.~
