Vera Wang’s Spring 2012 had a front row perfect for a paparazzi with celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams, Beyonce and Madeline Albright. Who can blame them for being so eager to see this collection. Vera Wang’s Spring 2012 collection was full of garments with beautiful silhouettes, red carpet looks, everyday pieces and some athletic-inspired designs.
The collection started with some lightweight layers of white, including a peplum jacket with sheer material underneath which showed off the models gorgeous legs and waistline. Vera then went onto injecting some colour into her designs which we are all used to seeing in her collections. Vera picked colours which are very much on trend for the SS12 season including hot pink and mint as well as the usual yellow, black, white and grey. That and some distorted printed designs created a nice balance in her colour palette.
My favourite designs were probably the garments in hot pink. Vera mixed the hot pink with a printed peplum to create a gorgeous peplum dress with a lightweight trail and wide slit at the front. Vera did this a lot in her designs, she would have an up-and-down hemline with a short front and a long back or trail. I thought this looked very sexy and it will appeal to the celebrities for the red carpet events.
